Designing Crates

Jenny Drinkard, a recent Industrial Design graduate from Georgia Tech, submitted the idea for Crates to Quirky. As Quirky sought a standout product for the back-to-school season, Jenny's concept of using redesigned milk crates resonated with the team.

Developing Crates posed one of the greatest challenges in Quirky's history. Not only did we set a strict deadline of 100 days for shipping, but we also decided to manufacture the product entirely in the United States. The design and engineering teams collaborated closely (as featured in this video) to determine the most structurally sound crate design. Once finalized, the Quirky Community was crucial in selecting which accessories would be manufactured and available at the product's launch.

This video serves as a typical community update produced by Quirky. It provides a glimpse into our ongoing projects, allowing the outside world to witness our dedicated designers in action.
