Quirky Marketing Logo

While other companies constantly struggled to find an authentic story to tell, Quirky never suffered from that problem. Behind each product, there lay a great inventor and product development tale. Our marketing team showcased the incredible ideas shared by our community. From national press to social media and in-store displays, we shared stories of products invented by real people like you. It not only boosted sales but also inspired everyday individuals to innovate.

QUIRKY INVENTORS

At Quirky, we cherished our inventors' protective nature towards their exceptional ideas. Bringing their visions to life was a responsibility we fully embraced. Recognizing the significance of their involvement, we invited active participation and collaboration throughout the product development process. Our inventors freely roamed our office, engaging with staff, starring in Quirky videos, and unveiling their inventions excitedly. Their ideas flourished into remarkable consumer products through our collective efforts.

THE WORLD’S LEAST IMPORTANT CEO

During Saturday Night Live’s season finale (2014), Quirky unveiled its national marketing campaign, "The World's Least Important CEO." This unique initiative went beyond humorously poking fun at Ben Kaufman; it was a striking reminder of our community's vital role in our success. We recognized that without them, we would be insignificant. The campaign featured two national TV spots, a New York City telephone booth takeover with Ben's number for idea pitching, and various captivating guerrilla stunts.

Call Ben, the world’s least important CEO, at 212-457-9138. He’s probably not doing much.

SCHOOL OF INVENTION

Quirky's School of Invention was an inspiring initiative that encouraged inventors of all ages. This program aimed to ignite creativity and prove that age was no obstacle to innovation. The curriculum included a facility tour, prototyping and 3D printing workshops, and an engaging master class on invention history. Instead of a diploma, participants left with their next groundbreaking idea.

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

At Quirky, we believe in recognizing outstanding employees while indulging in playful moments. When Bret Kovacs became both an exceptional performer and a participant in a prank photoshoot, we took the opportunity to showcase him on a prominent New York City billboard. Balancing dedication with enjoyment was ingrained in our company's DNA. Additionally, Bret's mom couldn't have been prouder.

RANDOM ACTS OF QUIRKY

At times, Quirky team members joined forces to bring warmth and joy to people through our inventions. Whether it was clearing snow-covered cars with Zeus and Thor (Quirky Inventions), providing a vitamin C spritz during flu season with Stem, or tackling the dirtiest NYC apartments for a fresh start in spring, our aim was to make a positive impact, one Quirky invention at a time.

RETAIL EVENTS

Quirky produced products rapidly, inspiring retail partners with innovative offerings. Whether merchandising collections or hosting disruptive invention challenges, Quirky was the coveted retail partner. We fearlessly pitched unique products, tackled tight timelines, and exceeded expectations for every merchant. Why? Because execution was our strength. Our retail partnerships thrived due to exceptional products and celebrated stories. It was that simple.

TRADESHOWS

Quirky made a memorable impact at the Chicago International Home + Housewares show with its innovative take on trade show displays. Our distinctive house-like structure led guests through captivating vignettes featuring Quirky products used by actors and employees. The word spread quickly, drawing Quirky inventors from the Midwest and beyond who came to greet us.

SOCIAL MEDIA

Quirky used social media and emails to sell products and inspire and educate our community with daily invention updates, behind-the-scenes glimpses, and real-time content.
