In 2014 I was the Chief Design Officer at Quirky, a company that 'Made Invention Accessible' for everyday people. We had already created a line of smart products with GE and Wink, a sister company that lets smart products from different brands talk to each other. Our community submitted many smart appliance ideas to our invention platform, and we saw a huge opportunity to create our smart appliance brand.

AMAZON AUTOMATIC REPLENISHMENT

We partnered with Amazon's new 'Dash' replenishment service to ensure your household essentials are always in stock. Poppy products monitor your supply levels and automatically reorder, preventing shortages or excess. Our initial lineup includes an artisanal coffee machine, an infant formula machine, and a pet feeder. To handle the workload, we enlisted R/GA for branding assistance.

FORMULA: SMART INFANT FORMULA MACHINE

Poppy's smart formula machine is designed for parental peace of mind, offering quick and precise bottle preparation with one-handed operation. It ensures timely formula refills and integrates with Wink for convenient device control via smartphone. A built-in listening device detects baby cries, activates nursery lights, starts the formula, and illuminating a pathway from the parents' room to the kitchen and nursery.

Track and log feedings so you always know when and how much your baby has eaten.

POUR-OVER: SMART ARTISANAL COFFEE MACHINE

Poppy's fully automatic pour-over coffee maker is handcrafted in San Francisco, bringing the boutique brewing experience to your home. It offers automatic refills of coffee beans, water filters, and coffee filters via Amazon when supply is low. Smart presets ensure precise brewing of boutique roasters' beans, while the Wink App allows users to share favorite settings with the pour-over community.

POPPY PET: SMART DOG + CAT FEEDER

Poppy Pet is a feeder that thinks about your animal's needs and takes the guesswork out of pet care. Sensors let you know what time of day your pet has eaten and how much food is in the bowl, an App enables you to feed meals remotely, and automatic refill technology reorders food when the storage container detects it's low.
